The five-times FIM Motocross World Champion Antonio Cairoli visited the headquarters of the Italian manufacturer Ferrari last week. Mr. Stefano Domenicali, team principal of the Ferrari Formula One team, admitted to be a motocross fan and he congratulated the Italian Champion for his fifth World Title and to place the Italian colours at the top of the World one more time.
Cairoli was warmly welcomed by all the employees of Ferrari and Massimo Rivola, the sport director of the Ferrari F1 squad, guided the Motocross World Champion through a tour in the factory and Cairoli could also admire the main productive departments of Ferrari, the museum and Enzo Ferrari’s office.
“It has been a beautiful experience, specially for a Ferrari fan like I am. I want to thank Stefano Domenicali and all the staff of Ferrari for the invitation and for the warm welcoming,” Cairoli said at the end of the day. “Visiting the Ferrari headquarters and watching how they produce machines like the 599 GTB Fiorano and the 458 Spider has been very interesting. The experience at the museum and at the racing division is something difficult to explain because it was too beautiful and intense, as it represents the maximum,” Cairoli continued.
“Domenicali is a motocross fan and he has promised me that he will come to see a Grand Prix and I will be very happy to welcome him in the Motocross World Championship paddock,” Cairoli commented.
After the visit to the Ferrari headquarters, Antonio Cairoli is back on his 350cc to get ready for the 2012 FIM Motocross World Championship season, which starts on the 9th April in Valkenswaard, the Netherlands.

Already actor in the discipline on the end of 90’s, the team Rigo Racing is back on the Enduro major league for this 2012 season with Suzuki. Alessio PAOLI will be the top rider of the Team from Milano. In cooperation with the team Pergetti and with a presence in the Italian and World Championship of Supermoto, the Italian barn managed by Marco RIGO will committed in Enduro 1 with the Suzuki 250 4T RZM. The enduro program, supported by Suzuki Valenti that joins the project of the companies of Lombardy (Rigo Moto) and of Emily (Pergetti), includes the participation to the World, European and Italian Championships.
The return of Suzuki and PAOLI
With the signature of Alessio PAOLI, sports ambitions of the team are high as the rider from Firenze has accumulated an incomparable experience for numerous seasons… Aged of 36 years old, the Slender Alessio PAOLI has already been crowned 3 times Italian Champion (1994, 1998 and 2005). Specialist of “small bikes”, he won a 125cc European title in 2003, Championship in which he shown again a lot of speed last year by finishing 3rd of the Enduro 1 class and E3 vice-champion in 2010. The 2012 season will be also the big return on the World scene for the new Suzuki rider who has finished 7th of the EWC in Enduro 3 class in 2005.
Tough favor to the support and the unique experience accumulated over the years by the very professional team Rigo Racing, Alessio PAOLI will wear, without any doubt, brilliantly the Suzuki colors, a brand that make its return on the paddocks of the MAXXIS FIM Enduro World Championship.

Mika Ahola leaves us after a long journey in the world of Enduro, his debut was on 93 with a 125 cc riding a Husqvarna, TM and then step Enduro Geographic staff in mind we know it from passing through the 500 cc VOR and I pressed hard and at the time Mika and defying an incredible self-confidence to the world's best pilots, won races and finishing runner-3 and in several years, then step by Husqvarna to finish in HM, I win mark with the 5 and several trophy consecutive world in Six Days
The loss of Mika Ahola, stone leaves us and costs us a lot to absorb this terrible news, not only is the loss of a great driver, is also the loss of one of the meanest people in the paddock and around the world circus Enduro, always ready to question and interviews, a very nice person, a true example to follow .., Mika at home was all an institution until the president was on one occasion, we can not imagine what is this terrible Finland lost in a country where an Enduro could be considered national sports.
Mika makes us higher than what an athlete can claim and any person, a great example ...

The 2012 Jolly Racing programme aims at two ambitious targets: the conquest of the E1 World Championship and the complete maturation of two young riders from Piacenza.
Jolly Racing is pleased to announce that the Italian Champion Simone Albergoni will join French rider Rodrig Thain in the E1 class for 2012; Albergoni will once again ride the HM-Honda 250, after leaving the team HM-Honda Zanardo at the end of 2006 and the two riders will take part in the French and Italian national championships, as well as the World series.
In addition to this, the participation of the two junior Swedish riders Calle Sjoo and Kalle Svensson confirms the internationality of the team. They aim for podium finishes in the World Junior Championship EJ class and with their HM-Honda CRF250R they will take part in the Italian Absolute tests.
Belgian rider, Thierry Wansart, who started his professional growth with the team, finalises the line-up and will take part in the E2 World Championship and in all Italian Absolute tests.
Tullio Pellegrinelli has the hard task to grow the professional riders and work with the young racers, who will work in parallel to the team; he will make the decisions on the final settings of the bike and the technical choices, race by race. The preparation, interpretation of the race and the special tests have always been fulfilled by Tullio Pellegrinelli, who today hands down his experience to all his protégés.
Tommaso Ariani, Stefano Matti and Alessandro Murru will follow the preparation and race assistance of the other riders.

Belgian great Stefan Everts is of course well known to Motocross fans. As the 10 times World Motocross Champion and team manager of the Red Bull Teka KTM Factory Team he has his hands full. With a short holiday in Thailand with his partner Kelly and the children, plus a celebration of his 39th birthday out of the way, the King is finally getting down to business with his riders.
Everts recently talked about his riders Antonio Cairoli, Jeffrey Herlings, Jeremy Van Horebeek and Max Nagl.
With a busy period for KTM also with their American activities Everts has his hands full with a lot of travel and exciting times in 2012.
“Our World MX1 Champion Antonio Cairoli is now fit from his hand injury and he has also done some testing on the 350cc and 450cc KTM machines. He is really happy with the new 450cc machine and finds the engine better than the older version, but he has decided to stay with the 350cc machine for 2012.”
“I have read on many websites that Jeffrey Herlings will race in America maybe in 2013, but this is not 100% sure. He was in America in November and December, riding a lot of Supercross.

After 21 years of Enduro competitions at the age of 37 Ihave come to a decision that took a lot of self-examination and soul-searching. The outcome was that I don’t have anymore enough ambition to continue so I will retire from racing. I have given everything I’ve got for this sport and although it has taken much, it has given me back more than I could have ever imagined when I started racing. First I won everything in my homeland, Finland, and become the fastest snow rider in the world. Then I threw myself in the world championships riding for different Italian teams and proved myself to be fast but 5 times landing just one position short of a world champion’s title. Then, against all odds I started winning world titles at the age when most talked about retiring. It has been a hell of a ride: 5 consecutive world titles won in all three categories and the last one won as the oldest champion of the history! With these new world records set on 2011 I feel my ambition for this sport completely satisfied. You can add up also 3 overall champion’s title seven though FIM hasn’t recognized overall titles since 2004. I have been also the fastest rider overall at the I.S.D.E. 3 times and 7 times I have been also a rider of Finland’s winning team. My ambition for this sport has been completely satisfied and I feel like it’s time for me to move on and see what else the world has to offer than racing! Finally, I want to thank all the people who have supported me throughout my racing career and all the riders I have been battling with!
Mika Ahola.

To start the year ahead will read a note telling us what are the conditions under which lies the Motocross in Belgium, "Motocross World Power," but first Motocross know that could be considered a national sport in this country with radio and television programs dedicated to Motocross and got the best drivers in history. In "This case," we talk about Belgium, but do not think that is a particular case, as it happens around the world.
Let's not be hypocrites and say once and for all what we really mean ..!!!
Years pass and every day we are more sunk in misery, is logical, when you are represented by "Politicians who govern us," governments only the faces change every 4 years in most countries, but are inept being the same level and in almost none of the cases are represented by the "corrupt politicians, unethical, or principles" that govern us, "the same laws that dictate and then buy their Land Rover 4x4 luxury, to wander the mountains for his country house, or go on "Safari to Andorra" are the same people who then sit down to watch the Dakar .... .. Hypocrites!
In the same line are the forest and green parties that make bikes pay for their incompetence and comfort, as it is very easy to fine those who go on a bike, there is no legal problems, and bureaucratic and is the best way to find these plate with slobs feel fulfilled ..
Motards Gentlemen, we are wrong sport, instead of devoting the Motocross or Enduro, had to spend most common sports, such as politics, construction, embezzlement, fraud, corruption, arms trafficking, drugs, prostitution, human trafficking ... "normal things that work today, Enduro and Motocross not" .. they were thinking ..?

The big question in 2012 is ‘can a Belgian rider win the FIM World Motocross Championship?’ It’s been four years now since Steve Ramon picked up the 2007 FIM World MX1 Championship. Since Joel Robert won Belgium a World 250cc Championship way back in 1964, Belgium has often had a World Champion in a calendar year. Only missing out in a handful of years.
FIM World MX1 contender and Belgian’s favorite to win a World Championship is Clement Desalle, a fighter who proved last year that he can be the fastest rider in the World. However, he needs to work on consistency to be able to match the legendary Antonio Cairoli.
After Desalle it’s pretty thin pickings, with veterans Kevin Strijbos and Ken De Dycker reaching their expiration date and not a single Belgium contender in the MX1 class after these three. Only Joel Roelants and Jeremy Van Horebeek in the MX2 class stand out as possible contenders for the future, although both are very inconsistent and yet to really show the speed of the leading MX2 contenders.
Add to the fact that Belgium’s last World Motocross Champion Steve Ramon seems sure likely to retire (although there is talk of a comeback) due to a serious back injury, it just adds to the worries of the small country.
For the first time in many years Belgium won’t have a round of the FIM World Motocross Championship this year, with Lommel preferring to put its energies into this year’s Monster Energy FIM Motocross of Nations.
Another problem in Belgium is the closing of practice tracks and race circuits.
Motocross legends Stefan Everts, Joel Smets and Eric Geboers have been fighting hard against the local governments to keep circuits open, but with little luck. Even Everts home track Neeroeteren, which has hosted several Grand Prix and was the training track for both Stefan and his father Harry (a four times World Motocross Champion), closed a couple of years ago despite a great rally by the Motocross supporters. Recently the famous Kester circuit closed to racing and of course a few years ago Namur ceased to run Motocross races.
When you consider that the top ten all-time FIM World Motocross Championship winners list contains Stefan Everts, Joel Robert, Joel Smets, Roger De Coster, Eric Geboers, Georges Jobe and Harry Everts, then you can understand that Belgium is the land of the giants. Like the fictional television program of the 1960’s it seems like its time is also running out, as countries like Italy, France and Germany take over as the leading in World Motocross.
Fortunately with the Monster Energy Motocross of Nations being held in Lommel in September, the Belgian fans have a lot to be happy.

A month ago we heard that the Dakar will no longer more from Buenos Aires, Patagonia and leaving the ranges of Argentina at least temporarily, in order to publicize the area for the Brazilian World Cup 2014 and teeing 2013, would Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and would go through, Sao Paulo and Parana at least three days, in what most would resemble a Rally race of "Two Sertoes" the days of the race pass through the southern jungles of Paraguay and Bolivia, to finish with 2 or 3 days in the desert through Iquique, Antofagasta and Copiapo, in order that the race ends in Valparaiso where the Chilean government has made it impossible to the race ended his country ..
.

This “new” cup will be reserved to young riders from 16 to 20 year’s old (1 year less) using 125cc 2 strokes motorbikes. All the Grand Prix of the 2012 Championship
will be opened to those prospects but only the 12 bests results will count to the final standing. The succession of Mario ROMAN (2010) and Jonathan MANAZI (2011) is
open for a class that now seems to interest numerous manufacturers and teams and that must gain momentum in 2012!! The Enduro Junior class is still open to riders
from 16 to 23 years old with all motorbike type…

Enduro Geographic: How long have you do the Supermoto?
Mauno: 2012 will be my 6th year with supermoto
Enduro Geographic: You pilot a more complete and rapid global SupermotoS1 who prefer the more technical circuits or faster?
Mauno: I think im better on fast tracks but i like to ride more the technical ones.
Enduro Geographic: What bike would you think is ideal for running, a 450cc or a 530cc?
Mauno: There is not a big difference between 450 and 530 as i have rode both but i think for hobbyrider 530 is easier as there is more torque in the engine.

Enduro Geographic: More and more pilots of many countries, there are more levels and much more competition in the rally ..?
.
Josep Maria: Fortunately, the race has been growing and increasing participation, so that competition is increasing and more teams are forced to commit a minimum of errors if they are eligible for a good result..
.
Enduro Geographic: We have been told that the air we breathe in the race is fantastic and very familiar, we can say about this ..?
.
Josep Maria: I am part of the opening team and we can only share with participants the last two or three camps and the atmosphere is really great, it's like a family that travels long distances every day. I always remember the caravans of settlers in western movies where collaboration between families is unconditional.
Enduro Geographic: For those who do not want to run, is also available on the Raid option to follow the rally route to Lake Rose in Dakar, we could explain how it works ..?
.
Josep Maria: The Raid is another great way to meet both career spanning countries. Usually leave the camp behind race cars and are a part of the course of these, more or less long according to their difficulty and when left joining the tour of the assists. Always accompanied by a vehicle of the organization and freedom of following one day attendances if they do not want to get into the tracks.
.
Enduro Geographic: We were in Africa on occasion, but with your experience as you explain to someone who has never been in a race like this and not know Africa, which is what you can find in this great adventure ..?
.
Josep Maria: Africa is a spectacular with amazing scenery and wonderful people and very welcoming. From the hand of a good organization can reveal very beautiful and have moments that will remain engraved in our minds permanently and safely. As race recovers the spirit of adventure of the most mythical times, with the security measures offered by new technologies such as Iritrack that allows the organization to know the position of all participants at all times, or requiring hidden waypoint participants to go through a certain point and thus can not be separated too far from the planned course.

Go on a bike or car in the forest lands and natural areas is no longer a crime, even to sports in these areas, too. This is intended Administrative law simplifications that promotes Catalan Govierno. The new law include the possibility of allowing motorized access tracks and roads narrow, less than four metres less wide. Something that until now prohibited by law since 1995. It also eliminates restrictions that prohibit motor sports competition in protected areas. With only three articles, is to turn around like a law in our opinion meaningless, which carries 16 years in force, but whose implementation has been a continuing headache for the Administration.
The Catalan Govierno relax the law, harshly criticized by fans of motorcycles, manufacturers and sportsmen who practice various specialties of the motor in the mountains.
Enduro by Geographic remember the "Agents Forest" is directly affected thousands of people working in the motor industry, Textile and endless sports shops, related to this sector generates many jobs and also promotes tourism and consumption, without going too far on 2 and April 3, 2011 World Enduro Pons opened in Catalonia and throughout this week flocked journalists around the world and lots of tourists from France, Italy, Portugal, Sweden, Finland's, etc. .., are filled area hotels, restaurants, supermarkets, clubs and petrol stations, and cities where the tour makes a career as Basell, smelled, PONS, Tiurana, VILLANOVA DE L'ACUTE and many more areas of Lleida.

The Catalan Govierno lift the ban on driving on roads and tracks less than four meters wide defining specific itineraries. They operate under specified conditions may be less stringent. And for this, the counselor will approve the appropriate orders, which allow motorized traffic on these roads. Now, surveillance is such that, to move into the forest, groups of more than three motorcycles must obtain special authorization. Instead, what you're looking for with this change is "defining roads or sections of routes, which may have less than four meters wide, in which the groups can move without permission," said Josep Escorihuela, CEO of Medi Natural .
The veto will not rise indiscriminately, but that the measure is bounded to "the requests made by the motorcycling federation of Spain and other groups that have requested to have the easiest access to the mountain, even if paying", a possibility that the Government of Catalunya is not only not rule but is studying.
The law removes the ban on sporting events in the natural areas of basic protection (the plan of natural areas, Pein), where cars and motorcycles can now move only on roads and paved runways. The problem is that current law creates great uncertainty. The Catalan government is granting permits to hold the motor racing, but have warned that legal services are "false", says Escorihuela, so the change has been made legal.
In addition, sports competitions may also be carried out in special protection areas, game reserves and wildlife nature reserves. In these areas, the races are not timed sections and will not necessarily take the paved ground, but may devise "by roads suitable for motorized traffic, the report of the managing body of space and in accordance with the authorizations," he indicated.

For the longest time, the prohibition of driving on roads or roads of less than four meters wide has led to continuous disputes among users of motorcycles and forest officials. Motorists have complained that the regulation is too strict and unleashed a bike phobia against them, from Enduro Geographic.com, remember the "Forestry agent" and "protectors of the environment ", which are in the wrong people and that motorists do not build roads, housing estates and hotels on the mountain, no trees cut down or burned forests to develop, do not throw trash, abandoned vehicles on the mountain and we are not the guinea pig, "we pay their frustrations "just enjoy the bike" on the mountain that is all, "does not belong only to you, at all.! and not the "messiah sent by God to protect" the Smurfs ", we are not Gargamell!, we also protect and safeguard the forests and mountains.

Ivan CERVANTES, do you recover after your winter injuries?
Ivan Cervantes: Yes, everything is ok now. But such an injury is very handicapping for a professional rider. To be stopped for injury during 1 month makes you unconsciously lose the high level’s rhythm.
Ivan, what do you think of those 2 first GP in Spain and Portugal?
IC: This championship will be difficult for me. But the Grand Prix of Spain was a real and very good surprise and that enabled me to conceal the skeptics. Many people thought that I would have adaptation’s problems with GAS GAS….
So, how do you feel inside the Team Gas Gas?
IC: Indeed, I fell like at home!! And actually, I am really at home. I fell
very well as in a big family. One saw you drive and live in motor home during the 2 first Grand Prix
IC: We get along perfectly with Laia, my fiancée. I fell very well with her. Laia knows me well and can understand me. Her presence is important for me and with the motor home we can do a little break with the Team. The race days are long during the Grand Prix of Enduro.
During the prize giving ceremony of the Grand Prix AMV Seguros of Spain, we saw you with a Catalan flag….
IC: Yes indeed… It was a “bet” with the Catalan Deputy. But, I am proud to be Spanish even if, of course, I feel as Catalan. Catalonia supported me at lot on my motorcycles’ beginnings and in particular the Catalan Motorcyclist Federation and I would like to thank them.

Red Bull Teka KTM Factory team manager Stefan Everts was excited entering the Grand Prix of Bulgaria. Having watched his riders work hard throughout the winter, he was delighted with the boys preparation and motivation for the 2011 season.
With the Championship favorites in both MX1 and MX2 (Antonio Cairoli and Ken Roczen), in the KTM team there will always be pressure and expectations. We talked to Stefan about his riders and what he expects from them.
Q: Stefan, watching Ken Roczen racing in America looked really excited, but it was also at times wild. It must have been nice to have him back in Europe?
Everts: This year I don't have much stress, everything went good with the guys, I mean, the MX2 guys. I was happy that Ken came back from US in one piece and he put in some training in Lommel for two weeks. I also advised him to do that and he did that.
Q: How about Jeffrey Herlings, how has his preparation been?
Everts: Jeffrey’s shoulder came good and he was on it from December. He has put in a lot of hours on the bike and he is in good shape. He is ready for it, he wants to race for the Title. We all know, and he knows that Ken is the favorite, but he is going to try and beat him of course.
Q: And Jeremy Van Horebeek is back in orange. How has it been working with him?
Everts: The third guy is Jeremy, he had a good ending of last season and my ambition is that he gets to his full potential. He didn't train as much as he should have in the past, but this winter he has really worked hard and he had full confidence in me helping him with his riding and training. He stepped it up and did some good pre-season races and I expect some good results this season.
Q: Jeremy seems like a fun guy, always smiling and playing around?
Everts: He is a bit of a joker, it's good to have fun, but at some point you need to stop the joking and get serious and we are working on that. Jeffrey also has his thing, everyone does. I was relaxed and excited to come into this season and it was the first year I felt that (as team manager). I see how well everyone is doing and the good shape they are all in.
Q: How is the first race of the season for you, as a team manager, but also when you raced?
Everts: It is always special, the first race of the season and for sure the first Grand Prix. At the end I was more relaxed, but still it would give some extra butterflies in the stomach and for sure these guys have that also.
Q: Did you ever have a start to a season that you were not happy with, where you felt unprepared?
Everts: I remember in 1995 when I came back after losing the Title from Greg (Albertyn) in 1994. I was so disappointed and nearly quit racing at one point in that winter. I stepped into the season with not so much motivation and it was a year I don't easily forget and the bad stuff that kept happening to me. I cut my knee at my home track in Belgium, also my car got stolen, some races didn’t go well and in Switzerland I did a bad moto and got passed on the last corner. Things were not that great in that season. Other seasons I was looking forward to going out and racing.
